Caribe Bakery

Caribe Bakery is led and largely run by Latina Women, also in Elizabeth NJ. They specialize in Portuguese pastries and breakfast items. My goal in depicting their business was to bring attention to the cashiers and waitresses. I learned about their experiences in the food and service industry and wanted to highlight the grace and resilience required to handle the role. A large part of Mucha's works highlight graceful women, mainly in leisurely settings and positions. I tried to honor this aspect of Mucha, and yet change the setting that women find themselves in.
