Gayatri Vedula is the owner of the Abhinaya School of Kuchipudi Dance, bringing traditional Kuchipudi dancing to Lawrence Township, New Jersey. Working with her, I realized the importance of storytelling, emotion, and cultural ties. Kuchipudi Dance lends itself beautifully to Mucha’s style.
In this poster, I traded the flowing cloths characteristic of Mucha's posters for careful pleats and bangles.
